New cuffs made out of WHAT?!?!?
Have you checked out my new line of cuffs for the Fall???? And have you seen what they are made out of??? ...Water bottles!!!! How cool is that?!?! What a great way to re-purpose something that would otherwise be thrown away! The first few I made were a little bit flimsy because I used the eco-friendly water bottles which have much thinner plastic. After making a few, I realized that the thicker water bottles were the way to go. They are nice and sturdy, and you'd have no clue what's underneath the fabric. Pretty cool! Check them out and let me know what you think :)

Bangles and Cuffs!!!
Be sure to check out my latest crafting venture.....bangles and cuffs!!! I've had so much fun hitting the vintage and consignment stores looking for old bangles and bracelets to bring life back to. If you have any old bangles or cuffs lying around, let me know! Thin 80's bangles work great, as well as the thicker metal and wooden ones. It's pretty awesome to see something old and tarnished become a hot new accessory :)

Up-cycled Sentimentals
Recently a friend asked me if I would be interested in taking some of her mother's old shirts and use them to create an up-cycled flower. I thought, what a great way to remember a loved one!!!! We all have clothing, accessories, etc, laying around from loved ones who are now gone and often we don't know what to do with these belongings but can't bear to part with them. Of course there are things that we couldn't possibly imagine taking scissors to, but if you have something that you'd be interested in up-cycling, let me know and we can come up with an accessory and design that suits you and your loved one's memory. I can use the fabric to create hair clips, headbands, pins (for clothing, purses, etc), or bracelets. Prices range from $6-$10 depending on the size/design. Below are some vintage inspired examples....
I'll be honest...this cuff was made from an old shirt (not sentimental) BUT it's a great example of an up-cycled cuff bracelet :)

Holy Hair Accessories!!!!
I added tons more accessories to my felt flower and up-cycled section! I've been one busy mama! Thanks to Milestones (who carries my accessories) for saving all their damaged items for me. When they receive a dress that is stained, torn, and unable to be worn and the seller doesn't want it returned to them, they give it to me to use the undamaged fabric to create beautiful up-cycled flowers. Wonder where most of my up-cycled materials come from???? Now you know! :)

Revised t-shirt to tank!
Same tank...different straps! I added braided straps with contrasting greys to tie in the dark thread and flower. Now I'm going to be on the hunt for cute large t-shirts to destroy :) Sal Val here I come! (Emma insisted on being in the pictures....)
And here's a closeup so you can see the straps better...

Men's x-large t-shirt to girl's tank? Yes please!
I've been wanting to do this project for the past few weeks but haven't found the time. Tonight I decided I'd set my mind to it and get it done! So I grabbed an old men's x-large t-shirt (a crappy one...just so that it wouldn't matter if I ruined it), some old ribbon, my sharpest scissors and got to work. I think it turned out pretty decent! Now that I now it's do-able, next time I'll find a cute over sized tee, matching thread (and a straight hem!) and braid some cotton fabric to end up with a much cuter finished product :)
And keep an eye on my page....I will be posting some super adorable felt flower headbands this week!!!
